Professional support

Find an accredited CBT therapist

Some people would like support from a therapist alongside using Freeway or attending dental care. The BABCP directory can help you find accredited CBT therapists who advertise directly to the public.

How to search

Search the official BABCP directory

The search happens on BABCP’s website, not here. We do not collect, store or receive your postcode.

  1. 1Enter your postcode on the BABCP website.
  2. 2Choose a distance, or select “Remote” if online therapy would suit you.
  3. 3Under referrals, choose “Self Referral”.
  4. 4Under areas of interest, look for “Phobias”, “Anxiety Disorders” and/or “Panic”.
  5. 5Ask the therapist whether they have experience helping people with dental anxiety or healthcare-related fears.
Why CBT can help
  • CBT can be useful for phobias, anxiety, panic and avoidance.
  • A therapist does not have to be a dental specialist to help with anxiety and graded exposure.
  • Ask whether they have experience with specific phobias or dental anxiety.
What Freeway does and does not do
  • Freeway does not receive details of your search and does not receive a fee or commission.
  • Results are supplied and maintained by BABCP, not Freeway.
  • Inclusion in BABCP’s directory is not a personal recommendation by Freeway.

BABCP is the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. Its CBT Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
