Your privacy

In Freeway — The Road to Fearless Dentistry there are three different situations, and we describe each one honestly rather than calling the whole site anonymous:

  • By default: anonymous and device-only. No account is required to start, and you can complete the whole programme without telling us who you are.
  • With an optional account: identifiable. Your progress is stored online against your email address so it is still there later, or on another device.
  • With the optional evaluation: pseudonymous. Structured outcome answers are linked together by a random evaluation code — not anonymous, because repeated answers are linked, but never tied to your identity.

Without an account

Your answers, module notes, diary entries and dentist plan are stored only in this browser, on this device. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, date of birth, email or dentist.

You can delete everything on this device at any time from the menu.

If you choose an account

You give an email address and a password. Your assessment answers, programme progress, diary entries, dentist plan text and appointment reviews are then stored securely online and linked to your email, so this becomes identifiable personal data rather than anonymous device-only information.

Your password is handled by our managed authentication service. We never store passwords in our own tables or logs.

Only you can read or change your saved progress. Access is enforced at the database level against your own signed-in identity.

What we never save to your account

  • The postcode or results from the sedation provider finder.
  • The optional display name and practice you may add to your printed plan.
  • Marketing preferences — there are none, because we do not market to you.
  • Tracking or advertising data.

How your email is used

Only to let you sign in, to reset your password, and for essential account security messages. No spam. No marketing. No newsletter. No mailing list.

Creating an account does not register you as a patient of Warwickshire Dental Sedation Centre or any other practice. Your email is never inserted into your dentist report, and it is never shared with a dentist, a practice, the Dental Sedation Directory or any payment provider unless you later choose a separate action yourself.

If you choose to join the evaluation

The evaluation is entirely separate and optional. Declining changes nothing. Its records are pseudonymous, not anonymous: your repeated check-in answers are linked by a random evaluation code kept on this device, along with a key that lets you delete them.

It stores your structured answers only. It never stores:

  • Your name, email, address, postcode, phone number or date of birth.
  • Your dentist's or practice's name.
  • Your diary entries, dentist plan, appointment reviews or any other free text.
  • Your IP address as an evaluation field, or any advertising or tracking data.

Ordinary internet infrastructure still handles technical connection data in order to serve the page, and we will not pretend otherwise. Evaluation answers are not linked to your account, and figures are published only as group totals.

Deleting your information

Each choice is separate, and each is confirmed before it happens:

  • Delete the progress on this device only.
  • Permanently delete the progress saved in your account.
  • Delete your account entirely, including your email address.
  • Delete your evaluation contributions, from evaluation settings.

Because the evaluation is deliberately not linked to your email, deleting your account does not delete your evaluation contributions, and deleting device progress does not either. Use evaluation settings for those. If the evaluation key on this device is lost, we genuinely cannot tell which pseudonymous records were yours, so we would not be able to delete them for you.

The first three choices are in My saved progress or the menu.

Anonymous by default

No account is required to start. An account is optional and identifiable; the evaluation is optional and pseudonymous. Your email is never used for marketing.
